A charming family-friendly ski resort with a good range of slopes for
beginners and intermediate skiers which enjoys very good snow cover
from December till April. If small is beautiful and it's a family
resort you are looking for, then Drouzin le Mont is certainly for you. It is also situated 17' from Morzine and 20' from Chatel for close access to the huge Portes du Soleil ski domain (650kms of
pistes across France and Switzerland).
Due to its proximity to Geneva and its lake, this is a perfect all-year round location with plenty of activities during ski season as well as in the summer.
With its charming ski domain and 17' access to Morzine (20' to Chatel),
it is an excellent opportunity to discover traditional chalet living at
a fraction of the cost with new fully-detached chalets starting from
179,000 euros.
The chalets are new and off-plan so you can choose the different options:
-You
can decide to keep only the three double bedrooms upstairs and
transform part of the 4th bedroom (next to living room) into a second
bathroom or simply add futher living area to your reception.
-You can decide to upgrade your kitchen or bathroom at cost
_Extend the size of existing balcony and transform into a wide angle terrace
-Extend chalet size by extending entrance into a further storage space
--The
basement (garage area in original plan) is the size of the other
storeys so can be transformed easily into further living space.

All the chalets are built using traditional techniques from local
Savoyard craftsmen. We also use a local fireplace fitter in case you
wish to have a stove or fireplace fitted in your chalet. The floors are wood floors in reception area and in bedrooms (can be carpet in bedrooms). Wood panelling on the walls for the true Alpine feel (locally-sourced wood). The
level of finishing is exceptional at this price including the wood work
(traditional wood shutters) by local Savoyard craftsmen (see photos).

owners live in the development all year round as this is such a pretty
area all year round with many activities in summer also.
Some of the amenities in Drouzin:
There
is a typical French bar/restaurant which will supply you with drinks
and local traditional food such as tartiflette. You can get anything
from a slap-up meal to an ice-cream, takeaway meals and sandwiches.
They can also provide you with rental of sheets & bikes. Fresh
bread is stocked daily as well as a range of basic foodstuffs and maps.
Ask nicely, and they seem to provide most things! A
pizzeria
& creperie is open during the ski season. There is also a tennis
court. There are plans to add a restaurant & bar, mini market and
some shops.
Ski pass for whole ski season 2009-2010 is 150€!

Portes Du Soleil is the largest skiing area in the world offering 650km
of mountainous terrain, climbing from 1000m to 2466m, boasting 279
slopes and 204 lifts between France and Switzerland. The skiing area
is comprised of 12 linked resorts that can be accessed with a single
ski pass. All levels of ski/snowboarding are catered for.
Additionally,
paragliding, snowmobiles, helicopter rides, hot air balloons, ice
diving, sleigh riding, sledging and skating are all available within
20-30 minutes of the Chalet.
Other activities
For a quieter moment, the Vallée d’Aulps also offers walks on nature trails and the possibility
to
discover lovely winter scenery. Be careful in winter; check the weather
forecast before you go for a walk as the weather can change quickly.
Snowshoe trekking
Easy and accessible to all - you just need to know how to walk!
Supervised by mountain guides, it’s a different way to discover
the mountain in winter and find wild nature.
Choose
from a simple half-day hike to a real daylong trek finished off with a
cheese fondue in a high-mountain chalet. A sport that gathers together
all those who love
the authentic preserved aspect of the mountains. For your security, go hiking in the mountains with a guide.
Nordic area at Lake Montriond: cross country skiing, diving under the ice
and snowshoes trekking.
Lake
Montriond a magnificient nordic area where practising cross country
skiing around the lake to the Albertans hamlet (approximately 6 km of
slope).
Discover the bubbles dancing, when scuba-diving under the ice of Montriond’s frozen lake.
Paragliding
Accompanied
paragliding flights with an instructor: in winter the take-off is much
easier: just « ski-off » the top of the mountain. Think about booking
the day before…
Other activities golf, include ballooning, fishing, sledge ride, paintball, quad, ice skating, Lake Geneva
Access
You
can fly to Geneva and transfer under an hour'. Alternatively you could
drive from Calais in 9/10 hours on excellent motorways and although
snow chains should be carried, it is unlikely they will be required to
access the resort. There is a third transport alternative, Eurostar to
Paris and then TGV to Geneva which is a high-speed rail possibility!
